Culture shock
Our hotel, as you would expect being called The Victoria, is colonial complete with antique furniture, parquet floors, high ceilings and a lift system which would have health and safety running for the hills. Just when you expect Poirot to turn up to solve a murder the mosque next door blasts out the muezzin (call to pray) to remind you are in the heart of an Arab city.
