Downtown traffic chaos
Today we visited downtown Cairo to try and get my lens fixed and arrange a cruise on lake Nasser for later in the trip. The most challenging part was crossing the road from one camera shop to the next. We stopped for a while and had tea with a Bedouin who said to cross the road you must walk like an Egyptian "Shut your eyes and Pray" While I am not quite ready to try this method literally you do gain some confidence when you realise that the traffic can rarely get above 10mph so stepping out into moving traffic is sometimes the only way to get to the other side of the road.
